Apologies and Wishful Dreams
You said I'm sorry, but for what?
Holding me the way I've always wanted to be held.
Touching me the way I've always wanted to be touched.
Making me feel good.
Giving me that boost of confidence to make it through the day.
Making me feel weak the way I've always wanted to.
Making my face go red and my head light and my knees shaky.
Giving me a taste of a world I want to live in.
Pouring new life into me.
Giving me a sense of hope for my future.
Putting your arm around me and saying you'll protect me the way I've always wanted.
I can stop, if you want, but the list goes on and on.
You said I'm sorry, but I just can't find a reason.
Saying sorry is what they want you to do.
They need a foundation to build their lies of love on.
Don't give them that.
Don't say sorry, be proud.
Can you do that for me?
