Animals
7:53
The door closes behind me and I slip in,
Unnoticed, hopefully,
And granted free.
Late.
They walk in late.
"Sign the clipboard."
Stamp of feet as the herd obeys.
"IDs please! Everyday, you guys! Everyday!"
We show them, the brandings that identify us,
Eyes glazed over and groaning quietly.
Staring at the ground, heads hung low
We don't even feel human -
How can you expect us to be adults?
The bell rings and we are free to go
To our numbered cages
Where we train for the show.
