And Beyond

Location

Rest your head, darling.

Let your body sink into the soft bed of green.

Open your eyelids ever so gently,

Just enough to see the stars.

What do you see, darling?

Do you see it all?

Do those infinitesimal flecks of light

Illuminate the heavens for you?

They do, darling.

Those ethereal orbs

Irradiate the darkest corners of the universe

Beyond the wildest of your sweet dreams.

You will never know, darling.

Never will your delicate fingers grace infinity.

Never will you lay eyes on the beautiful ebony

That lies beyond the limits of eternity.

But it is you, darling.

It is you and it is I.

It is each universe bound within our skin

That is everything.

We are infinite, darling.

We are boundless.

We are capable of reaching those limits

Which lay nowhere but inside ourselves.

Because you are, darling.

You are and you think and you know.

And concealed within your skull is power –

The fearsome ability to stretch beyond yourself.

But why, darling?

Why do you let it die?

Why do you smother the light inside,

Only to fade into the darkness of those around you?

Rekindle that light, darling.

Emerge from the darkness as a blazing star.

As an explorer, as a thinker, as an innovator.

Emerge from the darkness as you.

Lift up your head, darling.

Look at those surrounding you:

Particles of dust caught in a current of black.

Do not fall victim to the torrent.

Inspire, darling.

Enlighten the lifeless jetstream.

Create your own blaze and

Illumine the heavens and beyond.
