Among the Ink

Between the pages, among the ink

Among the open-eyed nights

Unfolds a world that curls and kinks

and twists in lengthy delight

Nestled in a mantle of tone

Bestowed upon the eye

Immersed in what is far from honed

A world that keeps you asking why

It's all fictitious, fake, frivolous fiction

Unleashed, a contributor's use of diction

It's an escape away from the facts of life

A pause on the reality of strife

Between the pages, among the ink

Unfolds a world that curls and kinks

My hands lay a book rest that's known

Only when life is greater than conjures I've grown

But even then I'll flip pages through and through

Because I've grown immensely close to characters accustomed to.
