America Needs Some Of That

Make America Great Again.

That will be a tough task. This is a question that shouldn't even be asked.

Great? America? Ha, don't make me laugh.

Until our black brothers don't live in fear of our blue, until our government isn't only interested in one hue, until our country can bring peace and not hate, we will never be “great”. Oh, how far that goal, because seemingly we will never be whole.

We will never succeed if we don't work like a well-oiled machine.

Police. Stop killing our Trayvon Martins, our Freddie Grays, our Tarika Wilsons, and our Rekia Boyds. Government. Stop trying to eradicate those who are poor than you, darker than you, those who in your eyes are lesser than you.

Because it will never work. For those you take from us, they are the ones who strengthen us. For every year you try to suppress and oppress us, only causes unrest within us. For we have unity, for we have power, for we have resilience.

America needs some of that.
