America the great? Land of the free? What does America mean to me?

Who is America and who are its people?

An American is the weight of more than 19 trillion dollars of debt.

An American is the cries of its hungry children as we fund countries overseas.

An American is a girl being judged for being plus sized by obese men on the internet.

An American is a football player getting payed 123,000 more dollars than a surgeon.

But an American is the rise of gender equality.

And an American is a friend regardless of religion.

An American is the wide variety of good food.

An American is the free public restrooms.

And of course an American is also the weight of thousand of soldiers who died for freedom.

American is good and bad depending where you go.

But my experience as an American has been great,

And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
