All My Love

Location

When I came home today, you’d left all your papers scattered on my desk

Darling, you know I can’t stand the mess

After dinner I went to my study, just for a minute, and you’d cleaned up the kitchen by the time I got back

I don’t know what I’d do without you darling

I cannot bear to hear your music box

So, darling, why must you play it so?

I saw that you turned the lamps on again once I’d gone up to bed

But, darling, you know I don’t stay up late as you do

You whispered, “Goodnight, love,” to me when I got into bed, even though you think there should be more fun had

Oh, I love you, darling

I visited you today, darling

But you weren’t really there

Don’t worry though, it didn’t bother me

I know it meant you were waiting for me at home

There are two brothers passing through town

They say you aren’t going to be around much longer

Not if they can help it

They say it like it’s a good thing…darling, it’s not

I visited you today, darling

But you weren’t really there

And this time it did bother me

Because now you are truly gone

All my love, darling

Until we meet again
