All I need

I have a dream.

I dream of success.

Of happiness.

Of a degree.

Of my own business.

I dream of a job more than a family.

I dream of a career.

Of spreadsheets.

Of taxes.

I dream of staying as abnormal as I started.

I dream of living in a small city.

I dream of pulling through all on my own.

I dream of independence.

Strength.

Confidence.

And it is this dream that I need most,

That I couldn’t live without.

Because without my dream there would be no motivation,

No reason to live.

Without my dream I would have no purpose,

So instead of a family member,

My favorite stuffed toy,

A journal,

Or some other materialistic item,

I choose a dream,

So if you’re going to take everything I have,

Leave me my dream,

Because it’s all I couldn’t live without.
