10,000

I’ve been waiting

10,000 years and counting,

waiting for what comes next,

for 10,000 years and counting.

10,000 years and counting

goes by so quickly

when you are racing

all the thunder,

all the lightning

that splits the sea.

10,000 years and counting

has placed a fire

in my blood that rages.

What comes next must be soon,

for I have been waiting

10,000 years and counting,

waiting for what comes next,

for 10,000 years and counting.

10,000 years and counting

goes by so slowly

when you watch

all the people,

all the things

you love are lost.

10,000 years and counting

has pierced my being,

pierced my heart.

What comes next must be soon,

for I have been waiting

10,000 years and counting,

waiting for what comes next,

for 10,000 years and counting.
