Fire That Thickens

Miller used his Crucible as a way of representing McCarthyism in America, he did not directly give the creatures name but alluded to it by using a recurring historical theme in America
That theme of mass hysteria and the persecution of ideas.
We are reliving
But under a different name

Fire that is feeding on oxygen
Continues to burn in our lungs
Burn in our nerves and muscles fibers
It refuses to turn into soot
Or to gray colored ashes
It burns because there are
mad eyed illusions still
weaving around us
