Promises

Promises that you said you’d keep

Are diminished by true reality

Found out that the fantasy we lived was cheap

The feelings come out with gravity

The promises you made were painted masterpieces

Every single one are traces of commitment

When these promises become hypotheticals, everything ceases

The painted masterpieces turn into rejected sketches without pigment

These memories of what if’s or the Somedays used to enlighten

Now I feel myself trembling and choked up

These memories have faded and I am left here frightened

I lived many painful moments, you and I were the most painful breakup
