Why I write?
I write because it is what I know how to do.
I write because it express how I feel when I can't speak.
Unraveling the deepest parts of my mind, my troubles,
and escaping into a place that I can claim as my own.
A place for me in this world for you to hear me, to see me, to understand me.
Me, born on the land of the free and home of the brave.
Given by birth the right to freedom of speech.
A right that no one, not even congress, can take away from me.
I write because when I look down at that paper or document screen
it reflects a little piece of me.
I write because it is what I know about me.
