a bad day, a bad friend, betrayal, hurt

I gave you the worst of my life, yet you took it onto your skin

You were patient as I tried and failed to express my sorrow on your artificial pages

You didn't laugh at my pathetic attempts to twist my words into poems, force them into song

And through your listening pages, I dealt with daily struggles when no one else cared to listen

And like a perfidious spouse, I abandoned you when my days were good

Like the Israelites to Elohim,  I neglected you until I needed your help.

Now you sit, in the corner of an unnamed folder on the second page of my smartphone

I've left the past in the past and you have served your purpose

I'm forever indebted to you, friend
