Those Crystal Blue Eyes

You looked at me with those crystal blue eyes.

You took my hand,

You showed me the world,

You made me feel loved.

I laid down my heart and you said you didn’t want it.

But because I love you,

I thought I was okay.

You looked at me with those guarded blue eyes.

You frowned at me,

You turned around,

You went the other way.

Someone else came running and you smiled when you saw him.

But because I love you,

I thought it was okay.

You looked at me with those broken blue eyes.

I saw you were hurt,

I sat you down,

I asked what was wrong.

You shrugged it off and said it was nothing.

But because I love you,

I knew you weren’t okay.

We look at each other with our crystal blue eyes.

We laugh at ourselves,

We lift one another up,

We swear we’re gonna change the world.

We may be on different paths and grow apart someday,

But because we love each other,

We know we’ll be okay.
