America The Already Great

diVERSE
Looking around myself,
What does it mean to contribute to diversity
Just a rose in a garden full of daisies
Being different means power
It means being unique
And so much more the world is able to see
To bring out so much my background has to offer to this world
The very little the individuals around me will see
Their learning
Education is power
And diversity is our strength
The one inside me is just like everyone else
Or is it
Knowing the one's around me don't feel this way
But that's okay
I am happy to be apart of any garden the earth has provided me
To be a rose in a world of daisies
To be a smiley in a face of frowns
To be a fish in a world of sharks
Am I the only one
The only raindrop from a thunderstorm
The rare flake from the blizzard
The petal of the flower
The word of a poem
America is its own beautiful garden
Full of daisies, roses, sunflowers, tulips, and so much more
Just like the wide range of people of different cultures
All living together in one big, happy garden
Does it need to be changed, I wonder
No, the thunder yells
Higher authorities wish to separate us but people have power
Just like the lightening vs. trillions of raindrops
We all came from one and we will all rise as one
We may have grew up in different gardens of the world
But now we are all together
Let us respect, love, & build peace not walls
With one another
Open our minds as we open our hearts
Diversity brings us together
And makes us all feel like one
It shapes this wonderful planet
In which we will love one another
And grow just like the garden with a rose
