At War
If I could say the words
In my mind in my soul
But thoughts are like birds
They fly away and go explore
Throughout the day I think of you
I hope today the skies are blue
But inside the gray clouds collide
And I know I’m destined for more
and it hurts the pain is profound
In my head the screaming is loud
I take what they say to clear my mind
The king of Babylon rules me inside
I try to fight the whispers of the day
But at night the shadows come to play
I hide under the covers and stay away
But they stay in my head anyway
