companion
to the edge of your face
smile stretches, widens-
i can see the wrinkles in your forehead
adrenaline bubbles up to the surface-
you make me breathless.
aching in my heart
a pit in my stomach
the walls are closing in
choking as the water starts to-
oh, there you are.
all washes away with your presence
the rays of light fill me with life
conversations,
whispers,
unspoken words and glances-
exhilaration.
