Envy
Why do you think people envy the dead?
Wouldn’t you think they’d love life instead?
I could tell you why it seems like their motivation’s depleting.
Like their walls have come up and determinations retreating.
It’s not as it seems determination is not what they’re needing.
Because they have motivation-- for their hearts to stop beating.
Tired of being alone, of being an outcast.
Popularity isn't a game, it’s a test they must pass.
To stop being alone, it’s anything they’re trying.
Oh, they want it so badly, they’re practically dying.
Wait, That’s it, they’ve got it, there’s no denying.
Now they know how to bring happiness and stop all the crying.
They think about the millions of people that have died.
The most popular thing there is must be suicide.
When they think about what clique has increased.
It’s so apparent that it is the deceased.
As if a drug that you could never quit,
They hear the dark words, “Everyone’s doin’ it.”
Their heart is pounding so much they can’t wait.
So ready and enlivened about their grim fate.
Why shouldn’t they do it, all the tranquility it’s showing.
Even now the number of dead is still growing.
They don’t have to be different, death is the “norm.”
It’s finally their time, they can conform.
They happily shed a small tear because the voices, aren’t in their head.
When you think about it… maybe we should all envy the dead.
