I am

Mon, 10/12/2015 - 19:54 -- Haja116

I am from sunshine

From the dirt on my clothes and the screaming of children.

I am from four people sharing a room

Tight but comfortable.

I am from my aunt becoming my mother

From being the youngest to the oldest .

I am from the track field.

From my mom and my aunt

I’m from over reacting and yelling

And caring too much.

I’m from take you shoes off at the door and say ‘please and thank you’

And you can pursue your dreams.

I’m from celebrating Eid.

I am from Monrovia, Liberia.

Torborgee and fufu

From early morning cooking with my mother.

I am honest, generous, and independent to a fault.

I expect most of others

and even more of myself.

I am from love and warmth

And a family that is always striving for better

I am from hard work.
