God Forbid

Society

wants us to conform.

Being addicted

to social media is all the rage.

God forbid

that we miss the subtweet about that girl that you can't stand.

God forbid

that we don't see that picture of your dinner on Instagram.

God forbid

that you don't ever become "vine famous".

Society

wants us to look a certain way.

People have

this idea of a "perfect woman" in their heads.

God forbid

that I don't wear a size four dress.

God forbid

that I don't wear a size 34B bra.

God forbid

that I don't have hair that's long and silky soft.

Society

conditions us to think a certain way.

No one

has a mind of their own anymore.

God forbid

that I be more than a mindless robot.

God forbid

that I think for myself.

God forbid

that I be different.

Society

dictates what's "in" and what's not.

Individuality doesn't

exist anymore.

God forbid

that I listen to country music instead of rap.

God forbid

that I be a Varsity cheerleader and also a section leader in band.

God forbid

that I be the one to break the stereotype.
