Words Make and Eradicate
Location
If one word or phrase or sentence I say,
inferno breaks loose - The townspeople flea
from trembles, pulsations, and rifts in the clay.
Magma to lava, from humble to greed.
The words I say eradicate the land.
Flying magma, rolling lava, and down
the volcano like hourglass sand.
Everything in its path, from grin to frown.
“Overreaction, exaggeration,”
they claim as smoke bellows loud and gray.
People are screaming of desperation.
This is the price I have to pay.
Is it worth it to say anything at all?
Should I let Pompeii happen day after day?
Maybe it's easier to stay quiet and stall.
But then my voice and my mind will fray.
