Crumbs
Location
The world we live in today
can in a moment's notice decay,
which without reason will leave us orphaned away.
I have walked over the prints of African children,
and yet nothing's changed.
I've worked at many a soup kitchen,
and yet I leave with a heart still pained.
I tell you now,
African tears come strong and weak,
for mine have last throughout a week
over the orphan whom has naught to eat.
He is the one that should answer the question,
he can tell you the difference between empty and full
as he searches for crumbs on the floor,
you see in his eyes, witnessing all the gore.
So as it was asked,
What would you change if you had the power?
I ask you,
Do bread crumbs on the floor taste sour?
I want the power to lift spirits.
