War

I watch as the fire burns the sky,
I listen as the bullet soars the night,
My tears fill my eyes,
As the other team begins to die,

The ground, broken and burned,
The bones, twisted and turned,
His laugh fills the air,
Does he even care?

The secrets whisper lies,
The smoke begins to rise,
It covers our burned skin,
It covers every hidden sin,

The innocence disappears,
As all good is cleared,
We beg and plead,
But you won't give us peace,

Sticks, blanketed in red,
Stones, like coal, like led,
Yet the word's you dish out,
Are the ones that cut, without a doubt,

Smoke, suffocates us, darkens us,
Mirrors, copy, not someone who can hold and caress,
In a crowded room,
Of only me and you,

You hurt hearts, you stab backs,
It's all just part of your sinister act,
You've strayed from you start,
And now the whole play has to restart,

Your soul haunts me,
Your spirit comforts me,
I see that spark of pain,
Where you take the blame,

I heal my friends, my enemies,
I feel it burning, even the seas,
I meet your gaze,
But it's an endless maze,

I begin to stand,
You get closer to the land,
You grab my hands in a tight hold,
Our skin shines bright gold,

That's when you take a trip,
A land called Karma has waited for you,
It has a tight, firm grip,
Maybe you'll find how to act true.
