Desire
Balancing on a cobbled walk I go,
Eager to reach thine loving gaze so sweet.
As my eyes travel upward from below,
my heart doth journey high a thousand feet.
Beating harsh like an ocean at high tide,
My insides swirl with anticipation.
Only my trusted lute I doth confide
About my ceaseless infatuation.
But I fear my endeavors are wasted,
A beauty as thee deserves naught myself:
A humble bard whom hardship has tasted,
Traveling only with stories to sell.
O, how I wish by thine side I could be,
My heart remains locked and thou hast the key.
