Change; not Destruction - Bullying

Bullying is something that, as a society, we’re familiar with.

We see and hear about it, and we want it to stop,

But “it’s just kids being kids! So what?”

Being told to ignore it, being treated like it’s some sort of game.

To simply ignore it is an outrageous claim,

When simply existing gives you shame.

When the worst insult you’ve ever heard is the sound of your own name.

When the only thing left holding up your self image is an old picture frame.

Bullying doesn’t change you, it remakes you,

When a bully comes and takes you

When they come in and rip your insides out

Replace all your hopes and dreams with anxiety and doubt.

Bullying makes you breathe when they say to

and cry when they want to.

Where life revolves to the bully and what he does

Making happiness from what is to what was.

Bullying doesn’t destroy, it changes

Edits, moves around, rearranges

All you do and all that was done

Bullying is war of many and a war of one

Where nobody can get out of and say that they’ve won.

This is a war on two fronts, where no one’s the victor

But has enough of an impact to scale off of Richter

Support your troops, both at home and overseas

So no one comes home with battle scars

Whether it be gunshots or scraped knees.
