A soft little kitten
My finger he has bitten
Yet I simply grin.
I hold him tenderly
Hoping he'll purr to me
Sleeping under my chin.
Striped oranger face and white paws
A banyan tree in my courtyard
That I had planted ten years ago
Looks beautiful with its large limbs
As if a beauty queen of monsoon
Were entering her adolescence
They call her adorable,
They do not know that she finds it deplorable,
Because outside she may be a mouse,
But inside she roars like a lion.
In times of desperation she will find release,
