fragility

Your screams echo endlessly
Without response
As diluted figures
Torment you endlessly
Drowning you in your own despair
You are isolated
Yet so closed in
That you’re being crushed
How easy it is to lose what we cling to!
How fragile, these shining lives, how easily extinguished,
yet how beautiful.
Our bones - reliable, powerful, wonderfully crafted,
are but toothpicks
(poems go here) Dark, deep
Marbles in a pallet of white
Pale, like a moonbeam
Tired. Haunted. Human.
Five fingered truths
Paired with misery,
Joy sustains
Fleetingly, lost again
