My heart,
Built like a gameboard-
Open to all
Multiple pieces, multiple players
A roll of the dice,
A deck of cards.
You serve a strong poker face.
Unpredictable moves,
If boys will be boys
Then girls will be toys
Consistently falling
For all of their ploys
And allowing their confidence
To be destroyed
I watch this one dude talk game
Try to find a woman to tame
She falls more and more for his charm
Him only equipped to harm
For not even two minutes later
He on to something better
Enticed by her lustful allure
The Casanova had to stare
His next conquest, he was so sure
She’d concur to a night’s affair
She said “You’re broken. I’ve no cure.
No magic treatment down below.”
Oh! Heart!
Why do you choose to stay in a dark room?
Why do you have to stay in this heavy storm?
Oh!
You make me insecure.
You lied.
You looked me right in the eye and lied to me to save yourself.
Because god forbid you ever be held responsible for your actions.
