flash

It started out simple, with a flash of light.
A yellow demon running like hell,
Running in the dark of night,
The night that Nora Allen fell.
It didn’t hesitate to take her life,
Flash!
Smile!
Turn!
Stop!
Lighter!
Darker!
Thinner!
Smaller!
Stronger!
Weaker!
Meeker!
Flash!
Smile!
Stop!
Tighter!
Shorter!
Behind the masks, the lights, the flash
I’m here, I feel, I fear
The truth told by the melody only in my head is a felony
Behind the flash and the pretentions of trends
You can stare into a glossy surface,
water stained but,
you can see what you strive to see
a reflective pool
rippled with a flash
the corners of my lips lift
with yours.
An eerie imitation
The flash-
The filter-
It's how I hide.
The picture that everyone sees isn't me though
It's just a reflection of this person
That yes looks practically like me
