I am home in the feelingof your skin against minenestled under blanketsas we lay there, side by sideOur touch--
I'm ambititous as a lion
Nocturnal as a wolf
Determined as a snake
And resourceful as a cat
Exquisite as a leopard
and atypical as a platypus.
Red. Really really red.
Theres red like your cheeks when you laugh
and theres red like April’s dress
but then there’s alligator ice, fruit punch red.
Not just streaks or strokes
Your eyes are just eyes
and your voice is just the rush of air thorugh vocal chords
But every time you look at me
I am blinded by the sight of your smile
They say my people's eyes are like this
