In the tapestry of my skin's diverse array,
Cheekbones structured a unique display.
My Melanated Beautiful, a chorus to sing,
A celebration of the hues that my complexion brings.
The life best lived.
The life best loved.
Yahweh is love.
Be loved.
My heart aches for the longing of heaven's kiss . . .
The warm embrace of my face touching the clouds

Soaring through the depth of me,
are stories I cannot unsee.
A chance to break this shift of space,
untimely but, it leads the race.
Unparalleled to swamps of heat,
it pours like lava, leaves the streak.
They said
Body is shame
So I hid every inch of it growing up
Thanks to your uninvited stares
that now clothes feel like a trap
Never being enough,
has long since become my normal.
