Through the cold month
A thin grape vine curls up
A ruined chimneyStanding in a field,
Kissed by rain,
Stone and brick
Are made the same
I’ll lead you to the pool
Undress you for your somber dive
Bid you prayers and warnings
Love on my breath, our lips
And you dip beneath the stillness
Ever had that moment when you come back to reality but at first it’s like you’re seeing it through a wall of water?

I look around.
Chaos fills the skies.
And the dust has only settled enough
For us to see the broken walls
and cities whom have met their own untimely demise.
Something has shifted.

And all these little things
They build up inside
Turning your light into dark
They rupture the protective wall

A coward with temptations,
That you could not resist
The evil damnations.

After all the people leave—
The raucous laughter has died down, goodbyes have been said,
The lights have all gone out, and people have left for some other party—
What happens to a building?
That moment when you feel your life is in shambles.
No longer the elasticity left in you
to be the glue.
All that's left is to grab a hammer and join the crew.
Hack a way at the remains.
