my body was filled with carcasses
all from previous broken hearts
until you came along
and you showed me what it's like to love again
you pulled
tore
dragged
those carcasses out of my body
Mother and Father,
You are the foundation of our family
You are the structure of our lives
You are the roof above our shoulders
You are the walls that keep us dry
Without you both we’re empty
Maybe my greatest teacher has been every teenage boy
Who told me he loved me.
Gave me kisses at school, held my hand in between classes
And then
