It writhes with a cry, from the womb Emerges pale, pink-skinned, dirty lips And eyes too large to balance its frame Yet cradled in gentle caresses, lullabies   I watch from afar, my mind half numb
The day begins and my eyes shine I see sunlight coming through my blinds A familiar face appears in my head And makes me get up and out of bed He is telling me to change and put on my shoes
It’s a New Day!   There are times, they say That days go on and on, without end To the displeasure of many We see them come and go, as they please, without worry
