Atlantis

Man has searched
But has not found
The great city
Of Atlantis
A utopian city
With great technology
And tolerance
Of homosexuality
The sky was shining blue above,
all the people one in love,
it was almost as if they never heard of
SELF
The land out in the sea
Mysterious and hidden
From many who wish to see
A place of triumph
A place of beauty tis it
One of which many wish to visit
I returned home from Atlantis
with new armor and a new head —
blades still sharp from the last stoning —
feeling very nearly a tourist in my own land.
What do we believe is in the sea?
How can you believe there’s nothing more to see?
A blue so deep no light seeps through
I wish I could see that part too.
Take me to Atlantis,
the wide array of sea life.
I want to be where the merpeople are,
and sing their songs of seas.
Take me to Atlantis where I may meet my Princess,
and she will meet hers.
Keeper of secrets, once I had
Of emotion, art, arrogance; Atlantis
Songs of rage, despair, and bliss; Atlantis
So bitter sweet songs of love
Withheld words that made me weep
