Poems from saharakhan
Only upon the acceptanceo f our own mortality
are we simultaneously
invincible and vulnerable,
immeasurable and finite.
These humble teeth and tongue
clatter
in vain to articulate the
fascination,
inspiration,
and empowerment I derive endlessly from my own...
attention, affection,
hugs so tight!
He's invincible-
brighter than the stars at night.
a doctor, an astronaut,
Singer in a band,...
The pulse
The nerves
The burning in me
Is the ebb of the ocean
The splash of the sea
The truth
The future
The fire in me
Is the forest...
Sometimes I imagine
That when you have died
Words dribble from your lips like vomit
Wade through falling time
Crawl stickily into the ears...
