Poems from hopesiler
I think of it
Often
That urgency
No longer dormant under my skin
Pushing me to action
Like a solstice
Holding its breath
Begging me along...
I can see me
Kicking it in Nashville
Strolling down Music Row
Willing to shake some hands
Make some deals
and become part of the big show...
I saw a smuge of eyeliner
on her sunned, freckled cheek
I wish I didn't have to watch her shimmy
sighing hard
into her jeans
or...
Once
there wre
electric days
compared to
Russian dolls
hours and layers
of complexities
gathering on our freckled skin
a lovely weariness...
