Poems from EAT SLEEP AND BREATHE POETRY
I am a teenage girl who has been writing poetry for a good three or four years. I have always been into the great Emily Dickinson, but my belief is that I was NOT the one who made the decision to start writing poetry, that it was actually God who made that choice. From the very first poem I wrote on, my love of all that is poetry has increased greatly as has my love for God.
I never even knew you existed until you were gone
I had no clue who you even were-And mom only ever met you once or twice-
It don’t matter...
There’s something about me
You may think it’s mysterious or even a bit freaky
Maybe it’ll make you want to flee
And if you do, that’s fine...
I’ve got a crystal
It hangs ‘round my neck
There’s something strange ‘bout it, though.
From the moment I bought it, my insomnia’s nowhere...
Just because I’m labeled with ADHD
Don’t mean I’m constantly hyper
Just because I’ve got learning disabilities
Don’t mean you can call me...
There are days when I feel misunderstood
And there are other days when I feel perfectly fine
On the days when I am misunderstood
You know...
