Poems from Aynell Jackson
A day... ...
Where rejoicing& loving were forgotten
That day
-She told her blues skies….’Bye’
I sat idle, underneath the shade
Thinking...
I’m wondering
How can I raise my daughter?
If I can label myself
An angry black woman

Why don't you...sit down
&start to get comfy.!
Now did you really ask
Where.?
Next to the woman
Whose love is madly...
There was loud noise
Followed by me crying out his name
As the bathroom door
Flew open
I could feel the steam
Coming from out of there...
My mouth is dry
And uh-
I haven’t pissed in days
For which I’ incapable
Really got too much on the brain
The excess water in my system
Look...
