Your Taste

Wed, 06/03/2015 - 16:12 -- Gnosis

I recognized your taste on my lips last night

It stopped me in my tracks

and sent me reeling,

Into fear and self loathing.

It tasted like stale almonds and

bitter wine.

It froze me to my spot

and shattered all my thoughts

and brought me back to shaking hands,

fast beating hearts

a laugh that was too pure and loud to forget

And a thousand voices were screaming,

louder than ever:

You will never leave my head.

If I loved you I would let you go.

You never loved me like you loved her.

When I came to my senses

I brushed my teeth for hours

just to get rid of that sick fucking taste.
