Your life is a movie,
And you are the director.
You are the starring actor.
You are the film crew.
You work behind the scenes to make your own soundtrack,
Design your own costumes;
You even write your own scenes.
You have artistic freedom to do what you will,
Slam what you will;
There are no limits.

When you walk down the street, and see the passersby,
They are but extras in your documentary.
But when you pass them by,
You are just an extra in theirs.
Your friends are co-stars in your Comedy,
Or Drama,
Or Adventure,
Or Crime,
Or Fantasy,
Or Epic,
Or Love Story.
You are always filming;
Always writing new scenes.
There will be rewrites,
And plot twists;
The audience will never know what hit them.
There will be critics and reviewers alike,
All interpreting your movie differently,
But no one knows a movie like its director.
The director’s cut will be seen only by you.

When the movie is finally finished,
The stone advertisement will read,
“Here Lies___ . Now playing in a theatre near you.”

I wrote this poem based off of an idea a friend of mine had that life is just like a movie with different actors, stars, characters, settings, etc. At the end when I say "Now playing in a theatre near you" I mean that people will remember your life and in remembering you, it's like they're playing your movie in their mind, or their own personal theatre.
Enjoy!
