You do not need...

You do not need a body
To be a soul
It is not only the doorknob
That opens the door

You do not need a hand
To hold on long
A bird never learns
Amid the throng

You do not have to protest
To get your demand
A little can do
Just whisper the command

You need not be perfect
To stand up tall
Because imperfection lifts you
After you fall

You do not need no one
To show your worth
They are not to exploit
Your strength and dearth

You do not need vocabulary
To help express you
It is that little magic
Your eyes can do

A lesson from someone else
Is a lesson learned
When you figure it yourself
It is a lesson earned.
