You

It’s blurry vision and

Coffee stains on the corners

Of letters that will just be

Tossed into an infinity of words

Given to you.

It’s sleep deprivation and

Forgotten movies on the TV

For the entirety of the day

Thrown into the background without

Thoughts of you.

It’s pen stains and

Photographs stuck on the wall

But places I’ll always go to

Looking for a piece of time where I

Have only you.

It’s typing furiously and

Cold sheets on the bed

Where you sleep

Holding me against your body

Precious to you.

It’s soft morning kisses and

Foreheads touching when

You cook me dinner

Laughing into your neck

Mocking you.

It’s attempting to find phrases and

Unspoken words that will change

The world as we know it

Finding the truth and knowing that

I love you.

It’s being lost at sea and

Stranded on an island

Alone and afraid but

It’s believing my love will

Bring me back to you.
