You drew my attention you were a brightly colored, graffiti covered wall. Splashes of paint, drifting everywhere Made something Beautiful. Mirror light glowed and glanced off your hair made me think you were someone I knew. Emerald grass Shattered As you ran across the field. Jostling bleachers, The sparrow fluttered but On broken wings, it could not get past So many people. It was only an excuse anyway. When you asked, And I shook my head. You will never know that my heart was dripping full of honey warm and sweet.

I really love this piece! The broken-up structure works very well to convey the tone and emotion of the poem. I especially enjoyed the idea of "made me think you were someone I knew," and the word-choice "heart was dripping full of honey warm and sweet." Nice work, keep writing! :) p.s. Please take a moment to check out some of my poems and leave your thoughts in the comments! Thanks!
