Yesterday's Aspiration

I am yesterday's aspiration
Despite the lack of clear conception
That often fogged and blurred my week perception
Despite naive judgments made inevitable by our generation's wide eye completion
Despite the confusion encouraged by endless vacant conversation

I am yesterday's aspiration

I've seen them all
I've seen them fall
The ones who Allen Ginsberg spoke to Carl about
The ones who's great minds were destroyed by doubt

They look at me bitterly
Yet I only sought humble victory
I am dignity
I am liberty
I am the muse of today's triumphal symphony
That was kept as a promise by yesterday's victory

The world's aggression
Only brought enlightenment to personal progression
I've made oblivion drown in frustration
Because I dared to fall and gain perception
I gained sight and became yesterday's aspiration
I am a living testament of the promise kept by dedicaton
