Yellow Door

The words unspoken are louder than those
yelled across the room.
I must escape
the voices
they're closing in
taking me as their prisoner.
Retreat behind the yellow door
close it and keep it there
Sharpness of the words unspoken
cutting deeper
and deeper
pain released in exchange for a piece of me.
Alone in the dark room
behind that yellow door
Have they noticed?
I don't believe they have
The silent war puts a shield before their eyes
I shall stay here
Behind this yellow door
No one will ever know
That behind this yellow door
lies a dark eternity
waiting...
waiting...
waiting.
for the sun to shine.
