Year One
A deep depressing slumber
Losing contact of her, even through her number
The last connection they had
Was severed by one who was mad
Or sad or possibly just protective
Looking for non-reasons like a broken detective
Never quite knowing what the future would bring
He felt his soul being tortured and his heart didn't sing
Breaking down ever so slowly, as she receives her diploma
He won't be able to see her, her family's there, acting like I had never known her
He would chase her, even though he wasnt a long distance runner
He maybe saw her once or twice in the store that summer
He still would've done it, even with prior knowledge
That he wouldn't have contact with her when she went to college
The few chances he gets, he takes one placed look
To see his last connection of her through Facebook
He talks to her daily, friendly as a cover
Because he and her both know he loves her
So vaguely but surely, he let's her know
Through well written messages, simply to show
He knows he will find every way he can
To tell her she's beautiful, and in high demand
What boy gets as lucky to find his perfection?
What boy gets so unlucky as to lose every connection?
He does...
