(poems go here) x.

I said my goodbyes in kisses

And so did you. And when you did

You always waited

For the next goodbye.

xx.

You told me you were bothered by a man that said

It was selfish of David Foster Wallace

To have written for himself and then to kill himself.

“He must be the most selfish man in the world,”

Trailed inside you like a limp chain of paper coils.

We were on the phone, and the distance hurt

So I held the paper coils as if they were you.

xxx.

Since that call I promise to

Continue a chain of paper coils

Hoping you don’t end up like D.F.W.,

Hoping that the chain continues till xxxx.
