Write about something you did out of superstition

I see the lights.
Oh, God bless those souls.
They're flashing bright and coming quick.
is the driver frantic or calm?
Rushing to save someone's life or just driving to collect?
I've opposed these lights before, but never driver to driver.
And somehow, suddenly, it felt wrong to let the lights fly by without a gesture of acknowledgment.
Lord, God bless those souls,
All the souls, any soul that those lights have transported.
And with a kiss of my hand I sign the cross, just as the lights rush by.
Whether they're vindicated or not,
Their lives have been acknowledged and honored by me
And whether they live or die,
May God bless those souls and whatever journey they're about to take.
