Wouldn't You?

What's it like
Surrounded by friends
Sweet innocents
With no clue

All laughing
All playing
All talking
And you're in the corner

Everyone's smiling
You're standing
With a smile as fake as their kindnesses
Shoved onto your face

And they ignore you

And sometimes
I try to stop smiling to see if it's real
And I stop
It isn't real

Laughter laughter
Loud and piercing
Echoing off the walls
And off my heart
Heart turned stone

Thank you for my granite
Thank you for my pain
Because you know I love it
Wouldn't you?
